A best-loved quote of mine by Edgar Degas is, “Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.” In my photography I strive to make others see the art in the subjects of my images. Intimate landscapes, still life and candid portraits are the favorite subjects of my passion. My hope is that my images conjure some emotion in the viewer as well as an appreciation of the art in their creation.
Deborah Baird photographs the intimate - the details in the ordinary which elevate the subjects beyond ordinary. Her favorite subjects are intimate landscapes, still life and candid portraits. Deborah's interest in photography began while studying graphic design in 1999 at Delaware County Community College in Media, Pennsylvania, where she earned the Certificate of Competency in Photography. Deborah was born in in Missouri, is the mother of one son, and after living in the Philadelphia area for 20 years, now lives in Woodbine, Georgia with her husband Rick and her Australian Shepherd, Ruby. She has traveled in Europe and the Caribbean and she also paints, draws and is an avid gardener.
